Do you want to be a driver of change, making a lasting difference to the education of thousands of children across the North East of England?
Do you want to be at the hub of operations, shaping and supporting the growth of a unique charity supporting a network of 1,250 schools to deliver on our vision of a region in which “our young people are confident, enterprising, skilled and aspiring: learning and developing within well resourced, nurturing and purposeful school environments”.
SCHOOLS NorthEast and its subsidiary trading arm SCHOOLS NorthEast Trading Ltd are looking for a talented, commercial, socially-minded leader who can bring considerable expertise and vision to an expanding social enterprise.
Described by the current HM Chief Inspector of Schools, Amanda Spielman, as “a catalyst for change and a forum for constructive discussion”, SCHOOLS NorthEast has a clear strategy for supporting schools in the North East of England to:
- create a culture of evidence-based excellence to ensure that every classroom is the highest quality environment in which young people are learning and developing;
- ensure schools are well-resourced with teaching talent;
- maintain healthy and resilient learning environments for pupils;
- drive decision-making by leaders and stakeholders across the North East to ensure the basic literacy and numeracy skills increase in communities to better support children’s education and development outside of school.
You will build upon existing relationships to widen the charity’s engagement with schools across the region and to extend the impact the charity delivers on behalf of North East schools. This is a diverse role which offers tremendous opportunity to shape and implement programmes that make a real difference in schools.
In particular, you will be responsible for the successful growth of the Jobs In Schools | North East recruitment portal. You will be expected to achieve targets in relation to increasing school sign-ups to the portal, increasing engagement with the jobs board and driving campaigns to increase candidate sign ups and use. You will be supported in this role by the wider SCHOOLS NorthEast team, which includes a dedicated Events Manager, Communications Officer and Business Manager.
This is a brand new role created as a result of significant growth in recent years and will suit an aspirational team player who is strong at working at different levels within an organisation and can motivate others to deliver real change in education across the region.
