Our purpose at Newcastle College is to ‘unlock potential through learning’; making sure that all of our students are ‘work ready’. We focus on providing all of our learners with an exceptional learning experience that will inspire them to be the best they can be in their chosen field.
Newcastle College is one of the largest further and higher education colleges in the country, supporting over 18,000 students from our main Rye Hill city centre campus and also from across numerous sites in Newcastle, Gateshead and North Tyneside. These include an Aviation Academy, based at Newcastle International Airport, an Energy Academy in Wallsend, the Rail Academy in Gateshead and the latest redevelopment of the College’s Parsons Building as a centre for health, childcare, science and business.
Our programmes of study are designed to ensure students gain a range of valuable skills which will enable them to progress to the next level, whether that is into further or higher education, an apprenticeship or into employment.
Newcastle College is the only further education college group in the UK to have gained Taught Degree Awarding Powers (TDAP). The College works in partnership with a broad range of employers to develop and deliver vocational Honours Degree awards which are responsive and meet the skills priority needs of regional and national employers.
